Lore Tablet Particle System. Used to highlight specific lore tablet props so the player is drawn to interact with them.
Guide Fairy Particle System. This system is set to follow a Game Object and behave as a guide for the player to follow. As it travels, it leaves behind a trail.
Magical Gem Color Explosion. This effect plays when a specific item is found and returned. Effectively, this shows a release of power as a specific color is returned to the game's world.
Some clips from the game's trailer that include the particles as shown in-game.

Aside from rigging and animations, I also tackled particle effects for my team on the Faded Grove.
Faded Grove can be downloaded for play from the following itch page:

It was my first time really making functional particle systems to be used in a game. I built these particle systems in Unity and learned to play with the plethora of different parameters in order to produce something appealing and effective for its use in game. These were a lot of fun to try out as it was a new challenge for me. I also felt a similar appeal that I would from animating, as I figured out the timings to use for each layer of these particles. I also learned a thing or two in Photoshop as I created the Alpha maps to use for particle shapes.
These pieces have certainly led me to create more particle systems in Unity for recent Game Jams.
